Job Description

The Chief Business Development Officer will be responsible for shaping and executing Manitist’s business development strategy, expanding the company’s presence in priority markets, building strategic partnerships across the payments ecosystem, and developing a scalable Business Development function. The role combines commercial strategy, C-level negotiations, market expansion, partnership development, and leadership of the BD team.

About the Client

A payment infrastructure platform built for global merchants entering Latin America. It provides seamless access to the region's most widely used local payment methods — PIX, Boleto, OXXO, SPEI, local wallets, and crypto. The platform is designed for high-risk and complex industries: gaming, fintech, crypto, and digital goods. Beyond payment acceptance, it handles compliance out of the box — AML/KYC, local regulations, fraud monitoring, and AI-based risk scoring. The goal is simple: remove card dependency, simplify market entry, and unlock new revenue in LatAm without the usual infrastructure headaches.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute Manitist’s Business Development strategy in line with the company’s overall growth and commercial objectives.

  • Identify and prioritize new markets, geographies, verticals, partnership opportunities, and revenue growth channels.

  • Build and develop strategic relationships with PSPs, banks, acquirers, payment providers, merchants, and other participants in the payments ecosystem.

  • Expand the existing partner network and identify opportunities to strengthen and diversify the company’s payment infrastructure.

  • Lead negotiations at C-level, including commercial terms, pricing, limits, settlement conditions, rolling reserves, and other key partnership parameters.

  • Own and support strategic B2B deals from initial contact and qualification through negotiation, agreement, integration, launch, and handover.

  • Build, structure, and continuously improve the Business Development function, including processes, reporting, responsibilities, pipeline management, and KPIs.

  • Lead, manage, and develop the BDM team: set targets, monitor performance, coach team members, and ensure consistent execution of the BD strategy.

  • Create and maintain a predictable pipeline of qualified strategic opportunities and ensure effective prioritization of deals.

  • Analyze market dynamics, competitors, payment trends, regulatory and commercial developments, and identify new opportunities for the business.

  • Assess the commercial potential and economics of new partnerships, including transaction volumes, margins, pricing models, and expected business impact.

  • Work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Tech teams to evaluate, onboard, integrate, and launch new payment solutions and partners.

  • Provide market and partner insights to support the company’s commercial and product strategy.

  • Represent Manitist at relevant industry conferences, networking events, partner meetings, and other business development activities.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of relevant Business Development experience, preferably including 2–3+ years in a leadership role such as Head of Business Development, CBDO, Commercial Director, or a comparable position.

  • Mandatory hands-on experience in FinTech, Payments, PSP, Payment Gateway, Acquiring, or a closely related payments business.

  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, payment processing models, PSP operations, acquiring, settlement flows, and key commercial mechanics.

  • Proven track record of developing new markets, building strategic partnerships, and generating measurable commercial growth.

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and closing complex B2B deals with C-level decision makers.

  • Experience building, scaling, or significantly improving a Business Development function, including processes, reporting, pipeline management, and KPIs.

  • People-management experience, including setting targets, managing performance, and developing BDMs.

  • Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margins, transaction volumes, partner economics, and deal profitability.

  • Ability to evaluate new markets and partners from both strategic and commercial perspectives.

  • Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Tech teams.

  • High level of ownership, independence, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.

  • English — B2+, Ukrainian/Russian.

Nice-to-have skills

  • Spanish language skills.

  • Existing professional network within FinTech / Payments.

  • Experience with high-risk verticals and/or iGaming.

  • Experience launching or scaling a business in multiple international markets.
